Book courses for the Summer term by clicking on this link

We run Andrew Robson Bridge Courses up to an advanced level. These courses are designed by Andrew and are identical to those taught at his club in Parsons Green. Each level consists of four or eight week courses.

The dates of the courses more or less coincide with those of the school term. Please see News and Events for term dates.

For further details on Andrew Robson and his various courses, please visit www.andrewrobson.co.uk.

Lessons run from between 1hour 45 minutes (Intermediate)) to almost 2 hours for the more advanced. All courses include full notes, tea or coffee as well as membership.

All lessons must be booked and paid for in advance. Your place on the course is not secured until a booking form and full payment is received.

We have now opened bookings to our wider audience in particular those members who joined us during the Autumn Term but did not choose to return for the Spring Term.

There are only one or two places, so if you wish to return to Dorset Bridge for the Summer Term, please complete a form as soon as possible. If it states below a course is full, please, nonetheless email us to enquire about the possibility of making space available to you.

We continue to reiterate  that Bridge courses are a serious commitment, not only to yourself, but to your Bridge peers as well. We ask, therefore, that you do commit to coming to all lessons, so far as you are able. By not coming, you are precluding others on our waiting list from attending.

We are pleased to advise that we have been able to hold prices, so they remain the same as for the Spring Term .

Below is the link to the booking form, which is in the usual format. We ask that once submitted, you settle up immediately as we cannot guarantee to hold your place open for long.

The courses are as follows:

Tuesdays - Conventions Set Hands and interesting play technique

(ALMOST FULL - BUT WE MIGHT STILL BE ABLE TO FIT YOU IN SO PLEASE E-MAIL TEACH@DORSETBRIDGE.COM)

This course is designed so that those who have done Red Conventions last year  may consolidate and revise all the topics previously covered. You will not know what hands you are getting but will be tested on how to spot the various Conventions and when to use them.

If you did this course on a Thursday during the Spring Term, please feel free to come again as there will be some exciting new hands added to the course.

Wednesdays - Red Play (formerly Advanced Play)
(One Space available, possibly two)

This course will fascinate you: the tricks you can manufacture from seemingly nothing. Never again will you await dummy with fear and trepidation.

Topics include advanced finessing, fun with trumps and card placement.

Thursdays

There will be no formal bridge on Thursdays as we continue to wind down Dorset Bridge. We do propose, however, doing various pop-ups as time goes by, concentrating on particular topics so those who do not intend to come back for formal courses, can keep up to date with the continuing evolution of the game.

Fridays - Improver
(FULL - PLEASE EMAIL teach@dorsetbridge.com)

Featuring all the basic conventions to equip you for a decent game. There is a huge rise in the playing level of those who take the course, which includes six carefully constructed set deals each week. Gain confidence in bidding every type of hand.
